André Huguenet (1906 – 1961) was die verhoognaam van die akteur Gert Borstlap.
Huguenet was ’n baanbreker van Afrikaanse toneelspel. Van die bekende Afrikaanse
toneelspelers en -
Huguenet is op 22 Oktober 1906 in Bloemfontein as Gerhardus Petrus Borstlap gebore.
Hy het daar grootgeword en het in 1925 aan die Grey-
Hy word veral onthou vir sy rolle in Oedipus Rex (met onder andere Athol Fugard en
onder regie van Taubie Kushlick), Tartuffe en Ipekonders, Poppehuis, Spoke, Minnaar
onder die wapen en verskeie Shakespeare-
In 1948 het Huguenet in diens van die Nasionale Toneelorganisasie getree en twee jaar later het sy outobiografie, Applous! die kronieke van ’n toneelspeler, verskyn, oor die 25 jaar van Afrikaanse toneelspel. In 1953 was hy 'n eregas van die Britse Raad tydens die Festival of Britain in Londen.
Huguenet was bekend vir sy humeur: een van die staaltjies oor hom is dat hy een aand, toe 'n baba onophoudelik luidkeels geskree het, die opvoering onderbreek, vorentoe gekom en uitdagend beveel het: "Mevrou, sal u asseblief u skreeuende skraapsel uit die saal verwyder." [3]
Hy is op 15 Junie 1961 dood in sy suster se huis in Bloemfontein aangetref.[4]

Hy is seker die bekendste van al die Borstlappe. Hy is wel nie bekend onder die naam
Borstlap nie maar onder sy toneel naam André Huguenet. Hy word as die vader van
die Afrikaanse toneel beskou.. Hy was 'n verhoog kunstenaar van die dag dat hy gebore
is en van kleins af het hy voor gehore op getree, aan kunswedstryde deel geneem,
saam met sy suster, Sally, kalvier gespeel. Hy het hom nie op gehou met die die speletjies
van die ander kinders van sy ouderom nie. Hy het erder kalvier geoefen in die tyd.
